Orchard Work Party

Assuming all the season’s tree planting is done, we’ll be starting on pruning, adjusting tree guards to fit the growing trees, and where needed, weeding immediately around each tree. We’ll work our way along the tree rows, and can surely find a task for every level of skill and energy.

General info for work parties

Everyone is welcome – no experience necessary. Please come and join for as long or as little as you like, and take it at any pace that works for you. Kids are welcome, but you must take full responsibility for any children you bring with you.

Do wrap up warm (or bring sun cream and a hat), bring snacks and drinks if you think you’ll need them, and bear in mind that the orchard site is pretty exposed. I’ll do my best to provide some flapjacks to keep us fuelled up.

We generally have all the tools we need on site, but if you would like to work with your favourite spade or secateurs, please bring them along.

It’s helpful if you can text or email to let me know you’re coming so I have a rough idea of numbers. If you need directions, have any questions, or want to check we’re there on the day if the weather is dodgy, please do get in touch.
